ST. LOUIS, Missouri (February 26, 2024) – On Monday morning, the St. Louis Battlehawk media relations team announced a town hall event from 5:30 – 8 PM. CT on Thursday, March 14 at Ballpark Village to celebrate “314 Day” in St. Louis as well as the upcoming UFL spring football season.
As has been the norm with these town hall events throughout the UFL host cities, attendees will include UFL President and CEO Russ Brandon, UFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Daryl Johnston, and the St. Louis Battlehawks Head Coach Anthony Becht. The three men will participate in a panel discussion moderated by 101 ESPN’s Brooke Grimsley. There will also be opportunities for guests to ask questions after the panel discussion. The evening will include fan engagement activities, team merchandise giveaways or for purchase, ticket giveaways or for purchase, and live music from Moon and The Teenage Dirtbags. The event will be free and open to the public.
Last year’s town hall event occurred at the Armory, St. Louis’s largest indoor bar. This event included similar fan engagement opportunities but with several players and members of the coaching staff present to interact with and participate in fan signings. The 2020 season also hosted local town hall events but to a much smaller audience. Former Battlehawks coach Jonathan Hayes and former team president Kurt Hunzeker would tour local restaurants and bars doing speaking engagements regarding the team, the new league, and what to expect on game day. They even made their way to Ballpark Village with a small showing of 30-40 early battlehawk fans. This year’s event is a far cry from 30 fans in attendance, as it will more than likely fill out the entirety of the Ballpark Village facility. It is unknown if this year’s event will be outdoor or indoor, but because of the anticipated large crowds and live music, it may need both areas to satisfy the anticipated crowd coverage.
